But what about bookmarks
Schedule time to find the hidden gems in your bookmarks and flagged e-mails.
Bookmarks are like intentions. People generally have the best intentions. Following through is another story and why I decided to schedule a monthly bookmark check-in meeting with myself.
What prompted this? It was a simple e-mail search through my G-mail account. I remembered starring a particular e-mail, so I searched on only starred e-mails. There was a treasure trove of information for use for future My HOHs and my life in general. All things I meant to do but had forgotten. For example:
A Jim Kwik e-mail talking how to read a book in one week;
Another Jim Kwik e-mail with A Simple Memory Tip You Can Use Right Now;
A Techsmith link to webinars on Camtasia and SnagIt, two things used rather frequently in my business.
You get the idea. There were a lot things I wanted to do something with but hadn’t gotten around to. Maybe just as importantly, I deleted a lot of bookmarks and e-mails that were not of interest or use to me anymore. So, I decided to make a monthly appointment with myself to do this. Even set up an Outlook calendar item for it. So, come next September 13, I have a 30-minute date with my bookmarks. I’ll let the bookmarks bring the wine.
But what about…Insanely Useful Websites
I’ve never started a sentence with “But what about…”. A lot of folks seem to be doing it these days. So what better way to deflect attention from My Home Office Hacks and shine it on a fellow Substack newsletter?
Insanely Useful Websites offers just that. The last one I read talked about a website that listed movie showtimes like all around the world and another with a bunch of tips on how to better use your android phone. Check it out!
An essential for working from home?
Many people prefer a standing desk to a traditional one. Yours truly became a copywriter largely because I didn’t want a job where I was on my feet all day. Here’s a standing desk converter that gives you the option of sitting or standing during the course of a long day at the keyboard.
