The conversation came up over last week’s kayaking vacation at Squam Lake and Lake Winniepis in New Hampshire. One person in our party, Betty Boop, mentioned some difficulty she was having with her hands. Yours truly recommended some hand exercises. Somebody else mentioned an ergonomic mouse.
A what?
Now, ergonomics is a big topic for people who work from home. So, I did some exploring. An ergonomic mouse positions your hand differently than the traditional mouse. Essentially, you’re in a more natural position like you’re shaking someone’s hand—rather than your hand being on top of the ordinary mouse.
Essentially, the ergonomic mouse will ease pressure on your wrist and tendons thus reducing the possibility of carpal tunnel and other issues.
What type you get depends on the size of your hand and how much you feel like spending. You’re typically looking at $60 or more for something decent. Here are a few from Logitech:
Frankly, I’d be careful about making a switch unless you’re experiencing pain with your current mouse. Sometimes drastically altering your motion can also cause problems. Personally, I would start by adding hand warm-ups to your computer routine before opting for a new mouse.
If your pain persists then it might be worth making the switch. As always, consult with a physician if you’re unsure.
How many of the best 100 books of all time have you read?
Thanks to my friends over at Cold Shower for sharing Reader’s Digest list of 100 Best Books of All Time. I absolutely love lists like this for two reasons.
1. I either impress or disappoint myself on the number of books I’ve read
2. I dispute books included on the list, most of which I was forced to read in school.
Actually, there’s a third. Books that should be on the list and are not. The best example is my favorite book by my favorite author: Prince of Tides by Pat Conroy.
So, how many of these books have you read? Go to the article and then leave a comment. I will do the same.

Inspiring quote of the week
“Now is no time to think of what you do not have. Think of what you can do with what there is.”—Ernest Hemingway, "The Old Man and the Sea"
I had only read 9 of the top 100 top books listed by Reader's Digest. Rather than getting down on myself I'm actually excited to have so many great books ahead of me to read! How about you? https://iworkfromhome.substack.com/i/135574402/how-many-of-the-best-books-of-all-time-have-you-read
