Gmail bounce-backs: The virtual water stain
Will G-mail addresses be able to receive e-mail from your company's domain?
Is there anything more embarrassing that spilling water on your pants—particularly light colored pants? You only hope you spill in an area where people won’t think it’s a, well, you know. Having one of your e-mails be deemed undeliverable to an Gmail or Yahoo address falls into that same category.
This has happened to yours truly a few times recently. An email sent from my business domain came back with this message:
host gmail-smtp-in.l.google.com[142.251.165.27]
said: 550-5.7.26 This mail is unauthenticated, which poses a security risk
to the 550-5.7.26 sender and Gmail users, and has been blocked. The sender
must 550-5.7.26 authenticate with at least one of SPF or DKIM. For this
message, 550-5.7.26 DKIM checks did not pass and SPF check for
[hiroadcommunications.com 550-5.7.26 ] did not pass with ip:
[184.106.54.90]. The sender should visit 550-5.7.26

Basically, they said we think you’re spamming us so we’re blocking you. This was an e-mail to a friend, actually a response to his e-mail. So, I clicked on the link to see what the deal is/was. Here’s a page that tells you how to fix, setting up either the SPF or DKIM. Now, I’ve got to tell you, a lot of this goes over my head, which is why I turned to my web host for the fix. If you’re brave enough to go it alone, here’s a video that can help.
The simplest home office hack: power scrolling
Bookmark enough web pages and it becomes a real chore to find the one you want. That’s particularly true in writing My Home Office Hacks. There’s a ton of good info out there and we want to bring the good stuff to you. So, the Substack folder is overflowing and the ones I usually want are at the bottom of the list. That’s what this hack is for.
Simply put your cursor on the arrow at the bottom of the list of bookmarks. The page will automatically scroll without you clicking. Just hold the cursor there until you’ve gone far enough down the list. Check out this video.
If you’re someone who refers to bookmarks with any frequency this one is a game-changer.
