Intermittent fasting and mushroom coffee
Working from home and intermittent fasting don't go hand in hand
So, I started this intermittent fasting thing, eating only from 12pm to 8pm. The saving grace to this schedule was being able to drink coffee. Yet on the path to getting my eating under control something else tipped the scales: my blood pressure. Until I discovered Four Sigmatic Mushroom Ground Coffee.
That’s right. Mushroom in the coffee. So, you’re probably either thinking:
“Groooosssss!!!”
Or…
“Kewl.”
From yours truly’s perspective its far more the latter.
Now, you simply can’t be on the Internet and not know of Four Sigmatic. They are everywhere. By combining ground coffee with Lions Mane, Chaga, & Mushroom Powder, their claim is a coffee that they have created “an astoundingly effective combination of immunity-increasing, attention-amplifying superfoods.”
While astounding may be hyperbole, effective is spot on. My jitters went away, blood pressure came down and consequently I was more focused. And it tastes good.
How good? If you ordinarily have cream in your coffee, you would be fine drinking Lion’s Mane black. That’s how good.
You absolutely do NOT taste mushroom and you will absolutely NOT trip!
Price-wise, it’s a bit more than yours truly would spend on coffee. That’s because I’m a coffee-holic—one day at a time, folks. Yet with the smooth, milder taste and calming effect, I have actually found myself drinking less coffee.
That said, you can buy Four Sigmatic coffee on Amazon to try it out. You can buy 12 ounces of ground Lion’s Mane for $12.99. Or you can to Four Sigmatic’s website. They have a monthly subscription where you can get a pound of coffee for $20. They usually offer a discount for subscribers, $16 per month. Though if you’re a coffee drinker, one pound certainly will not last a month, particularly with multiple coffee drinkers in the house.
The recommendation here is buy it on Amazon, see if you like it before committing to a subscription with Four Sigmatic.
As for the intermittent fasting
I went to intermittent fasting after trying to do 36-hour fasts. Those types of fasts can be very difficult to pull off when you work from home and have easy access to food. Much like coffee, it’s all subjective. Just as Four Sigmatic might work for you, some might prefer a good cup of Maxwell House. Same with fasting.
There are intermittent fasting programs that work with keto diets.
There are intermittent fasting programs that advocate the exact opposite of what I do, encouraging people to eat after 7pm. That one offers a free book, plus s&h.
Again, this is all subjective and it’s a matter of finding what works for you.
Finally look and sound good on Zoom

It’s taken me the entire pandemic for the other side of my face to clearly appear on a call. These hacks—put together by Patricia Tanguay--helped make that happen Enjoy!
