Remember before Covid
On the 5th anniversary of the Covid lockdown, we remember the good that came out of the worst of times. For the paid, 96 AI sources for 2025.
Pre-Covid, it was near impossible to get people to do a video call, Skype was the biggie back then.
Why it matters
The lockdown was horrible. The loss of life, unimaginable. Yet to keep life and commerce moving, people adapted to a new way of doing business: Zoom and other video meeting tools. For WFH small business owners like yours truly, it was a total game-changer.
Going deeper
No more conference calls where you had to take impeccable notes and you weren’t always sure who was talking on calls of more than three people.
Networking and client meetings came to your computer screen or phone in your home office. No more wasted billable hours driving to them.
Even deeper
Being able to see what you look like while listening during the course of a meeting was also a real eye opener. No wonder I frightened my family. My deep-in-thought face is easy to misinterpret and, admittedly, a bit scary.
Other revelations
No more shame about going out at lunch time in your combination collared shirt, sweatpants and sneakers look.
No more explaining to people with “real jobs” that working from home was much more demanding than it looked. Sure, you had no commute. You also spent that time working more. And work was not just during work hours.
What else?
