To start, thank you for subscribing and reading My Home Office Hacks. Hopefully you enjoy reading at least half as much as I do putting it out.
Does that mean I enjoy it twice as much as you?
That last joke was in homage to Bob Saget who passed at the beginning of this year.
Substack provides very telling statistics on what readers enjoy. In 2022, the following posts were your favorites based on opens.
Second runner-up – A healthy response to standing desks
Truth be told, this one is my favorite for two reasons. First, it’s a topic of interest to me. I have long disputed people who write for al living could and would use a standing desk. The response and contributions of so many writers stating to the contrary swayed yours truly into giving it a try. Second, a newsletter is always better with more and newer voices.
First runner-up - The discovery phase of a new computer
Having to unexpectedly replace a computer is no fun. Yet what we don’t realize are the opportunities that can present, particularly when you bump up an operating system—as I did going from Windows 10 to 11. That’s how I found several e-mail signature templates that made setting up my four e-mail addresses in Outlook much easier.
The Most Popular MyHOH - Happy Birthday, Bob Newhart
Not sure what it is that makes Bob Newhart so compelling. Yet all his shows have a following. Even a drinking game. So, it stands to reason using his name in the subject line would result in the most popular newsletter of the year. Even if that was to highlight a website, NationalToday.com. And that was how I found out that it was Bob Newhart’s birthday, leading to the most popular newsletter of the year.
But what about…A newsletter re-gift
Over the holiday, I signed up for Tim Ferriss’ e-mail. As a “gift” for signing up, he shared his list of app he can’t do without. It’s good stuff, definitely something My HOHs can use. So, here you go.
