1 Big Thing

My HOH is written using a style called Smart Brevity, made famous by the creators of Axios.

Why it matters

Within the first two sentences of a My HOH email, you will know the main point of the email and why you should know.

Going deeper

The Smart Brevity model allows some latitude after the one big thing and why it matter. It can include a “Going Deeper” where you can get more information on the main point. In this case, a link to Smart Brevity.

Other possibilities

Typically there’s a next step, call to action or an ask. You can tailor it to however you want your e-mail, text, landing page, etc. to go.

Get the book

I first listened to Smart Brevity. It didn’t make as much sense until I saw it in print in front of me. Of course, you can see it every day by subscribing to Axios, see below.

Check out Axios

Are you this talented?

Anyone who’s read My Home Office Hacks knows we’re all about incorporating movement into the work day. This might be taking it a tad to far. Maybe not.
