Thanks, Elliott. How do you start your day?

Joe,

I'm so happy to see this article as so many of us that work from home can fall into the get out of bed and work right away mode. I was that person in the beginning. Now, I love getting up early, either to stretch, meditate, go for a walk and gather my thoughts for the day. That pot of coffee is a must for sure and throughout the day I'll go outside or walk around the house and pick up a little or hang with the dog. It rejuvenates the mind and the body to take a break. It made a huge difference in my day when I started first with self care. You may play your drum, I'll pull out my singing bowl. Great write. Thanks for sharing.

Self-care is key.

Joe,

What a great article. Just like with any sport it is always important to do a little warm up prior to the game. The same holds true for business and work activities.

Absolutely. Think about how long it takes you to get showered and dressed for an appointment. Why wouldn't you take at least that long to get ready to start working.

What does your work from home pre-game ritual look like?

I have to drive my kids to school and walk the dog - so that takes up my early morning time and the walk definitely gets me into the work mode, as you said, I come up with ideas or am inspired about something that is on my work plate. I used to exercise in the morning, before kids, but now I schedule in my exercise through the day/week and my mornings are devoted to the kids and dog.

L,

I love that you are using that time as brainstorming time for work. Walking a dog can offer the same sort of headspace that taking a shower does. And we all know that many of the best ideas occur while we are in the shower.
