Schedule joy
Put joy on your calendar. It’s a necessity for being effective when working from home.
Stay with me on this one.
What gives you joy?
Can you put one of those things on your daily to-do list starting tomorrow?
I am.
What gives me joy
The HOH (Home Office Hacker) loves introducing people in my network who might be able to pass leads and referrals to each other.
Starting today that activity is on my list.
What do you do for joy?
Can you fit it into your work from home experience?
Our My HOH from a few weeks ago shared the How We Feel app. One of the activities they suggest if you’re trying to shake off a funk—something that can be quite common during the holidays—is to go out somewhere and look for smiling faces.
That’s right.
Smiling faces.
Whether it’s at a coffee shop, bus stop, or playground, chances are you will find somebody smiling.
Then, just take those smiling faces in and see how that feels.
Does it elevate your mood?
Chances are it does.
It may even make you smile.
If you’re unsure what makes you feel joy, here’s a great article from Psychology Today that can help.
My Home Offices Hacks rocks!
Yours truly recently appeared on Work at Home Rockstar with Tim Melanson. We had a lot of fun and the video bears that out.
Looking for authors
We had a great time on the My Home Office Hacks the other day with author and writing coach Seth Harwood. So much so that we’re looking to set up more virtual lunches and host more authors. If that sounds like you and you’re up for hanging out with the HOH (Home Office Hacker), drop an email or a comment.
